HGV Technician Vacancy in Kidlington
  • Salary: Up to £22 per hour, pending experience, with access to bonuses/optional call-out work/overtime.
  • Hours: Week 1: 7:30am- 4:00pm and Week 2: 1:30pm-10:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Our client, an automotive commercial vehicle dealer group with multiple centres across England, is currently recruiting for a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Technician to join their busy dealership in Kidlington, Oxfordshire, on their alternating early/late shift pattern.

Reporting to the Service Manager and working as part of a team in a modern purpose-built workshop, your key objectives as an HGV Technician will include:
  • To complete all service work and defined maintenance work of the utmost quality and efficiency within manufacturers' time schedules.
  • Supply a professional performance in all aspects of work activities to make an essential contribution to the value and retention of customers.
  • Supporting colleagues in the workshop with any technical issues and innovations.
  • Ability to carry out comprehensive diagnosis and repairs of malfunctions.
  • To ensure that all company policies and procedures applicable to their area of responsibility are always adhered to.
  • Document the results of diagnosis/repairs/service/safety inspections.
To be eligible, an IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair would be desired; however, our client will consider time served applications over 5 years with proven experience as an HGV Technician. Also, our client has stressed that if you're an equally qualified Car/LCV Technician looking to make the move over to HGV, then they are willing to offer the necessary training to convert over. Overall, you will need to be a committed individual and a good team player. You must be able to produce a high quality of work in a busy workshop environment and be motivated to work towards targets set for your team. individuals with an active HGV driving licence or an IRTEC accreditation would be highly advantageous; however, this is non-essential.
