Automotive Service Advisor required in Walsall 
  • Basic Salary up to £28,000 basic (Can pay more for Senior Service Advisor)
  • OTE £33,000+ 
  • Monday to Friday: 8:30am – 5:30pm with Saturday (1 in 2 rota): 8:30am – 12:30pm
We are working with a busy, independent garage in the West Midlands, providing MOTs, servicing, repairs, and fleet maintenance for cars and vans. Around 75% of the work is vans, and approximately 80% of customers are trade clients.

They are looking for a confident Automotive Service Advisor to join their hands-on, multi-skilled team. This is not a standard dealership role — you will be fully involved in every stage of the process, from customer enquiry to final invoice.

Key Responsibilities for the Service Advisor
  • Be the main point of contact for customers, managing enquiries, bookings, and updates throughout their visit
  • Check in vehicles, communicate issues to technicians, and provide clear estimates and approvals for additional work
  • Monitor jobs through the workshop, maintain job sheets, and ensure accurate labour and parts costing
  • Order parts and liaise with suppliers and technicians to keep the workflow running smoothly
  • Produce invoices, take payments, and manage administration using Dealer Management Systems (DMS)
What We’re Looking For in the Service Advisor:
  • Previous experience as a Service Advisor in an independent garage
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of cars and light commercial vehicles (essential for discussing repairs, ordering parts, and managing workflow)
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Dealer Management Systems (DMS)
  • 1Link
  • Autodata labour/repair times
  • Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and general IT systems
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to interpret technical issues and provide clear advice to customers
  • Must live locally (within approx. 10 miles) for operational reasons
  • Full UK Driving Licence
