Our Client, an Award Winning Commercial Main Dealer is currently looking to hire a Purchase Ledger for their busy accounts department. Our client a family run Main Dealer with a fantastic reputation and ever growing customer base require an experienced Purchase Ledger.
We’re looking for someone strong, analytical, and logical who stays calm under deadline pressure and possesses a high attention to detail. Being able to work independently, and also as part of the accounts team to achieve the deadlines is essential. IT literacy and attention to detail, and accuracy are key skills, as well as being a strong communicator.

- Competitive salary of £30,000 per annum, with potential for additional earning opportunities
- Full-time, Monday to Friday working hours from 8.30am to 5.00pm

- Reconciling supplier statements and liaising with suppliers for
- Assisting with the smooth running for 7 trading companies for sales and purchase ledger including both supplier and customer account reconciliation whilst dealing with any queries both email and telephone
- Processing purchase invoices
- Daily posting from bank statements (receipts and payments)
- Preparation of supplier monthly payment runs
- Posting purchase payments and sending of remittances
- Performing Bank reconciliation to include credit card payments and receipts
- Posting and reconciliation of internal invoices and payments
- Setting up new customer accounts after processing application forms
- Assisting with customers exceeding credit limits and obtaining of funds to release accounts
- Group credit control support to include posting of Remittances, dealing with related queries to conclusion in a timely manner with the relevant depot or department, sending monthly statements and copy invoices, chasing payments by phone and email
- Assisting with vehicle sales invoicing and supporting purchase ledger documents
- Assisting with audit queries and the preparation of annual accounts
- To work closely with and in support of the Accounts Manager
- General office duties as required
- Proven experience in purchase ledger or accounts payable roles, ideally within the automotive or commercial vehicle sector
- Strong organisational and IT skills, with proficiency in relevant accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Confident communicator, capable of liaising effectively with suppliers and internal departments
- Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently under deadlines
- Knowledge of VAT procedures and credit control procedures is advantageous
- Full UK driving licence preferred but not essential
