Pay: £40k basic up to without MOT Testing licence or £45k Basic with MOT License
Hours: 8 - 5.30pm Monday - Friday - no weekends 

Are you an experienced Garage Manager seeking a new opportunity in Guildford? Our client is looking to appoint a dedicated Garage Manager / MOT Tester to lead their busy workshop. This role offers a rewarding environment where your organisational skills and technical expertise can thrive.

Benefits

  • Competitive basic salary up to £45,000 depending on qualifications and experience
  • No weekend work, working hours Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 5.30pm
  • Full-time permanent role with 20 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Opportunity to earn based on performance and additional responsibilities
Duties

  • Managing daily workshop operations and workflow coordination
  • Booking appointments and invoicing customers efficiently
  • Updating customers on their vehicle status and providing quotations
  • Ordering parts and ensuring timely workshop processes
  • Overseeing workshop team to ensure productivity and quality
  • Conducting MOT testing (if holding an MOT licence) and ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Supporting workshop activities to optimise customer satisfaction
Candidate spec

  • Proven experience as a Garage Manager / Service Manager or similar supervisory role in an automotive environment
  • Valid MOT Tester licence or willingness to obtain one (additional £5,000 base salary for MOT testing capability)
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities
  • Ability to manage workshop workflow and motivate a team
  • Full UK driving licence
