Vehicle Mechanic

We are currently seeking an experienced Vehicle Mechanic to join a reputable, family-run business located in Petersfield. This vital role offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician to work independently within a supportive environment, ensuring the efficient maintenance and repair of a diverse vehicle fleet. The successful candidate will play a key role in keeping the operations running smoothly and safely.

Duties

  • Support the safe and efficient operation of the workshop and yard activities
  • Perform annual services and routine vehicle inspections
  • Attend breakdowns, diagnose faults, and undertake repairs to ensure vehicles are roadworthy
  • Conduct repairs and replacements of vehicle components as needed
  • Maintain accurate service records and complete all necessary documentation promptly
  • Order parts and liaise with suppliers to ensure repairs are carried out smoothly
  • Support site operations including servicing and repairing plant equipment and delivery of attachments
  • Follow health and safety procedures and promote safety awareness at all times
  • Work independently as the sole mechanic, managing your workload efficiently
  • Assist colleagues and external clients with technical support and advice when required
Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 diploma in light vehicle repair or equivalent
  • Proven recent experience in a vehicle mechanic role
  • Good diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • IT literate with experience of digital data entry
  • Strong attention to detail and meticulous in your work
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Physically fit, adaptable, and prepared to work in various weather conditions
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented approach
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
