Perfect Placement is delighted to be supporting an established and highly respected accident repair business in the recruitment of an experienced MET Technician to join their team in Telford.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical, Electrical & Trim (MET) Technician with a minimum of 3 years' experience to join a professional accident repair environment where quality, safety and technical standards are genuinely important.

As an MET Technician, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Dismantling damaged vehicles in line with repair estimates and manufacturer repair methods.
  • Removing and refitting mechanical, electrical and trim components safely and efficiently.
  • Reassembling vehicles to manufacturer and company standards.
  • Identifying additional damage, missing parts or further repair requirements.
  • Checking parts are correct and available to complete repairs efficiently.
  • Reconnecting and checking mechanical and electrical systems following repair.
  • Ensuring safety-critical components are fitted correctly and securely.
  • Carrying out quality checks before vehicles progress to the next stage of repair.
  • Working closely with estimators, workshop controllers and other technicians to keep repairs on schedule.
  • Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
  • Following all health & safety procedures, repair methods and company processes.
The ideal individual will be an experienced MET Technician with a strong background in vehicle dismantling and reassembly, ideally within an accident repair or bodyshop environment.

You will need:
  • A minimum of 3 years' MET Technician experience.
  • Good knowledge of mechanical, electrical and trim components.
  • The ability to work from repair estimates, technical instructions and manufacturer repair methods.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
  • A good understanding of workshop health & safety.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A professional approach and commitment to completing work correctly and efficiently.
  • IMI Accreditation is preferred, alongside experience working within a modern accident repair centre and familiarity with vehicle safety systems and manufacturer repair methods.
