We are seeking a skilled and experienced Technician to join a well-established, family-run independent garage based in Uckfield, East Sussex. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who is passionate about automotive repair and eager to work in a supportive, old-fashioned environment where their skills will be highly valued. As a key member of the team, the Technician will be responsible for a wide range of vehicle maintenance and repair tasks, contributing to the continued success of this reputable local business.

Duties:
  • Diagnose and repair a broad range of vehicles including cars, vans, and minibuses
  • Carry out MOT repairs and inspections for Class 4, 6, and 7 vehicles
  • Maintain vehicle health and appearance through regular inspections and repairs
  • Perform general maintenance tasks in line with manufacturer specifications
  • Use hand tools and diagnostic scanners to identify faults and implement effective solutions
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the workshop by supporting other team members as needed
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in vehicle repairs
  • Strong knowledge of all vehicle types, including light commercial vehicles and minibuses
  • MOT licence is desirable but not essential
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a busy environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ideally, familiar with diagnostic tools like Autodata and Snap-on equipment
  • A proactive attitude and a passion for automotive technology
