Are you a highly experienced Vehicle Technician with a real passion for engine work and major mechanical repairs? We are currently recruiting for an Engine-Focused Senior Technician who wants to work on more challenging repairs and be recognised for their technical ability.

  • Up to £55,000 Basic

Do you have the skills and confidence to tackle head gasket repairs, engine strip-downs, timing work and complex mechanical faults? If so, this could be an excellent opportunity to join a well-established independent automotive business in West Bromwich, working within a professional and well-equipped workshop. The successful individual will be someone who is particularly strong on the mechanical side of vehicle repair, with significant experience diagnosing and carrying out major engine repairs.

You'll be trusted to work on vehicles from initial diagnosis through to completion, with particular emphasis on:
  • Head gasket repairs
  • Engine strip-downs and rebuilds
  • Timing chain and timing belt repairs
  • Engine fault diagnosis
  • Cooling system faults and overheating issues
  • Cylinder head work
  • Major mechanical repairs
  • Clutch and drivetrain repairs
  • Complex fault finding
  • Diagnostics and general mechanical repairs
  • Quality checking your own work
You'll be working alongside an experienced technical team in a busy independent workshop where quality of workmanship is genuinely important.

We're looking for an experienced technician who can demonstrate:
  • Strong experience as a Vehicle Technician / Senior Technician
  • Excellent mechanical knowledge, particularly around engines
  • Proven experience carrying out head gasket and major engine repairs
  • Ability to diagnose faults accurately rather than simply replace parts
  • Strong understanding of modern vehicle systems
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of repairs
  • A professional approach to workmanship
  • Relevant automotive qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 / IMI or equivalent would be highly desirable but not essential 
If you're currently a Senior Technician, Diagnostic Technician, Master Technician or highly experienced Vehicle Technician and want a role with a strong focus on engine work, we'd be keen to hear from you.

Salary & Hours Option 1 – Up to £55,000 basic :
  • Monday–Friday: 8:30am–5:30pm
  • Plus 1 in 2 Saturdays
  • Saturday: 8:00am–1:00pm
Option 2 – £52,000 basic :
  • Monday–Friday: 8:30am–5:30pm
  • No Saturdays.
