Are you an experienced automotive professional seeking a leadership role within a busy workshop environment? We are currently recruiting for a highly capable Workshop Controller to join our client’s well-established team at their Heathrow location. This is an excellent opportunity for a results-driven individual to take ownership of workshop performance and lead a team of skilled technicians.

Duties:

  • Manage daily workshop loading and capacity planning to optimise productivity
  • Allocate work effectively based on technician skill set and current workload
  • Monitor workshop efficiency, utilisation, and productivity throughout each shift
  • Lead and motivate technicians to achieve performance standards and high-quality work
  • Conduct performance management and develop technician skills through coaching
  • Oversee workflow to ensure jobs move smoothly through the workshop
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks, minimise delays, and maintain customer satisfaction
  • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the workshop
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer standards and warranty processes
  • Drive health and safety compliance across the workshop
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the service team to enhance customer service
Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Workshop Controller within a franchised dealership environment
  • Proven track record of improving workshop productivity and efficiency
  • Strong understanding of workshop planning and labour management
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and influence a team of technicians
  • Strong commercial awareness and customer-focused approach
  • Knowledge of warranty processes and manufacturer systems is desirable
  • Leadership or management qualifications are advantageous
