Are you an experienced Vehicle Technician looking for a role where your mechanical skills are genuinely valued? Our client is a well-established, family-run business with nearly 50 years of experience, and they are looking for a skilled Technician to join their busy workshop in the Wolverhampton area. This is an excellent opportunity for a Technician who enjoys getting stuck into diagnostics and more complex mechanical repairs, rather than simply carrying out routine servicing.
  • Experienced Vehicle Technician – Timing Belts & Chains, Turbos, Head Gaskets, DPF & Major Mechanical Repairs
  • Salary: Up to £40,000 + Uncapped Bonus, depending on experience
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm 
  • Individual Efficiency Bonus

What will you be working on as a Vehicle Technician?

As a Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining and repairing cars and light commercial vehicles, with a strong focus on mechanical repair work, including:
  • Timing belt and timing chain repairs
  • Turbocharger repairs and replacement
  • Head gasket repairs
  • DPF cleaning and related DPF faults
  • Clutch replacement and repairs
  • Engine diagnostics and mechanical fault finding
  • Electrical diagnostics
  • Brakes, suspension and general mechanical repairs
  • Servicing and routine maintenance
  • Diagnosing faults across a wide range of vehicles.
You will be expected to work efficiently and accurately, completing repairs to a high standard while working within agreed timescales.

What are we looking for?

To be considered for this Vehicle Technician position, you will ideally have:
  • At least 5 years' vehicle mechanical experience
  • Strong diagnostic and electrical knowledge
  • Proven experience carrying out timing belt/chain, turbo, clutch and head gasket repairs
  • Experience with DPF diagnostics and cleaning
  • A strong understanding of modern vehicle systems
  • The ability to diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently
  • A positive, "can-do" attitude
  • A strong work ethic and focus on productivity
  • The ability to complete VHCs, job sheets and customer documentation accurately
  • A full UK driving licence.
