Our client is seeking a skilled and dependable Vehicle Technician to join their busy independent garage located in Portsmouth, Hampshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated professional looking to develop their career in a friendly yet challenging environment. The successful individual will contribute to the team’s success by providing high-quality service and repairs within a small, independent setting.

  • Overtime earnings with an OTE of approximately £38,000
  • Short working week from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday

  • Modern equipment and diagnostic tools including Launch Diagnostic scanner
Duties:
  • Conducting routine servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of vehicles
  • Performing MOT testing within the garage's existing facilities
  • Assisting in maintaining high first-time fix rates to uphold the garage’s reputation
  • Repairing mechanical components such as clutches and cambelts; EV service work limited to brakes and tyres
  • Ensuring all work is completed efficiently and to a high standard
  • Supporting the team to build and grow the business through excellent customer service and technical expertise
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic with relevant qualifications or time-served background
  • A valid MOT license is desirable but not essential; willingness to complete training if necessary
  • Good understanding of diagnostic tools and technical data, including Autodata
  • Able to work confidently with scanners such as Launch Diagnostic and undertake basic EV servicing (brakes and tyres)
  • Reliable, punctual with a professional attitude
  • Capable of communicating effectively with customers and team members
  • Experience working in an independent garage is advantageous
