Mechanical Fitter/Assembly Technician
  • Location: Trafford Park, Manchester
  • Working Hours: 07:00–16:30, Monday to Thursday & 07:00–15:30 on Friday (44 hours/week)
  • Salary: Up to £35,600 + bonus opportunities
Our client, a leading name in commercial manufacturing, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanical Fitter/Assembly Technician to join their growing team. Key Responsibilities for the Mechanical Fitter/Assembly Technician:
  • Assemble and install insulated panels on commercial freezer bodies
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and works orders
  • Perform electrical terminations for lighting, switches, and tail lifts
  • Use hand tools and bench equipment for cutting and fitting metal, wood, and plastics
  • Apply silicone and gel coatings to seal joints, floors, and roofs
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed
  • Work independently to meet production timelines and quality standards
  • Support additional tasks and projects as directed by management
What We’re Looking For in a Mechanical Fitter/Assembly Technician:
  • Previous experience in assembly or a similar hands-on manufacturing role
  • Confidence in using hand tools and workshop equipment safely and efficiently
  • Strong understanding of the manufacturing and assembly process
  • Ability to work to engineering drawings and specifications
  • A proactive, responsible attitude with good timekeeping and reliability
  • Access to personal transport or ability to reliably commute to Trafford Park
