  • Location: Stockport
  • Contract Type: Permanent
  • Hours: 42 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8am–6pm. Saturday rota 8am–12pm)
  • Salary: £26,000–£30,000 basic + up to £6,600 bonus
  • Additional Earnings: Uncapped bonus scheme + £2,000 for EV qualification
We are currently recruiting for a skilled MOT Tester to join a busy and growing aftersales team based at a state-of-the-art dealership in Stockport. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified MOT Tester to join a supportive and professional working environment, with genuine career development and manufacturer training opportunities available.

You'll be responsible for conducting MOT tests in line with DVSA guidelines, performing vehicle health checks, and carrying out servicing and repairs using the latest diagnostic technology.

Key Responsibilities for an MOT Tester:
  • Carrying out MOT tests in accordance with DVSA standards and ministry guidelines
  • Performing full vehicle health checks using the latest diagnostic tools
  • Completing authorised vehicle repairs and servicing to the highest standard
  • Conducting road tests to confirm fault rectification
  • Ensuring all documentation and records are completed accurately and to brand standards
  • Liaising with service advisors and workshop colleagues to deliver a seamless customer experience
Requirements for an MOT Tester:
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
  • Valid MOT Testing Licence (Class 4)
  • Previous experience working as a Vehicle Technician or MOT Tester
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to work
  • Ability to deliver high standards of workmanship and attention to detail
Desirable:
  • Experience working within a franchised dealership environment
  • EV/Hybrid certification (not essential – training provided)
  • Familiarity with premium or specialist brands (not essential)
