Position: HGV Technician
Location: Dartford, Kent
Salary: £24.44 per hour (Annual Salary: Approximately £50,835.20 based on standard hours)
Hours: 4 on 4 off, Night Shifts, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Our client, a leading commercial vehicle fleet management company, operates 14 depots across the UK, delivering a clearly defined portfolio of support services to a variety of industries. They are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join their IRTEC Accredited workshop in Dartford, supporting the day-to-day running of commercial vehicles.
The Role: As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical repairs, preventative maintenance, and modifications on commercial vehicles.
- Ensuring a clean and safe workshop environment at all times.
- Collaborating with the VMU manager and team to meet workshop objectives and maintain strong employee and customer relationships.
- Conducting quality diagnostics and repairs in line with repair orders and technical standards.
- Striving for a Rectification Ratio – Zero (right first time).
- Accurately recording and reporting time spent on repairs and maintenance.
- Maintaining the working capacity of machines and tools.
- City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 qualification (essential).
- Experience working on HGVs in a fleet or commercial environment.
- Practical knowledge of using information technology and systems to deliver objectives.
- A safety-focused attitude with a commitment to achieving the right result the first time.
- A flexible, can-do attitude with strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently.
- HGV Class 1 Driving Licence (preferred but not essential).
- Experience with tail lifts (desirable).
