HGV Technician Required in Ashford, Kent
  • Basic Salary from £16.00 – £21.00 per hour (Day/Late shift)
  • Night Shift Rate: Circa £23.50 per hour
  • Alternate Week Shifts – Overtime Available
Our client is a well-established, multi-site commercial vehicle specialist operating across Kent. They are now seeking additional HGV Technicians to join their busy team in Ashford due to consistent demand and expansion.

What’s in it for you as an HGV Technician?
  • Day/Late shift: £16.00 - £21.00 per hour (depending on experience)
  • Night shift: Circa £23.50 per hour
  • Shifts: Alternate weekly rotation of early and late: Week 1: 06:00 – 14:30, Week 2: 13:30 – 22:00
  • Night shift: 21:30 – 06:00 (Monday to Friday)
  • Saturday morning overtime available (not every week), paid at time and a half
  • Overtime regularly available

Duties of an HGV Technician with our Client:
  • Carrying out routine maintenance and repairs on HGVs and trailers
  • Diagnosing faults using diagnostic equipment and manual techniques
  • Completing safety inspections and MOT preparations
  • Ensuring all repair and maintenance documentation is completed accurately
  • Working both independently and within a team to meet deadlines
What our client expects of their HGV Technicians:
  • Previous experience as an HGV Technician or in a similar role (LCV may be considered)
  • NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
  • A full UK driving licence – HGV licence beneficial but not essential
  • A positive, team-focused attitude and willingness to contribute to a busy workshop
  • High standards of workmanship and a strong work ethic
