- Location: Petworth, West Sussex
- Salary: £42,000 - £48,000 per annum OTE (based on experience)
- Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm (1-hour unpaid lunch) + occasional weekend work
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Service Manager in the day-to-day operations of the service department, including managing bookings and workshop activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, addressing concerns and ensuring timely updates.
- Assist in driving revenue growth through effective upselling and customer retention strategies.
- Monitor and maintain Work In Progress (WIP) at manageable levels, optimising callout schedules.
- Identify and implement improvements to aftersales processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to optimise departmental performance.
- Collaborate with the parts department to ensure availability and efficient time management.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Oversee service department administration and processes.
- Mentor and support technicians, particularly apprentices and trainees, to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Proven experience in a similar managerial role within the agricultural, automotive, or a transferable industry, or as an experienced technician ready to step into management.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with customers, engineers, and colleagues.
- Strong IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
- High level of organisation and attention to detail.
- Understanding of agricultural machinery and the seasonal pressures of the industry.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines.
- Positive, motivated, and team-oriented approach.
- Full UK driving licence (HGV Class 1 licence beneficial but not essential).
- Competitive salary: £42,000 - £48,000 OTE per year.
