Our client, a multi-franchise-approved car dealer group in the Hereford region, is currently looking to recruit a Workshop Controller for their busy dealership.

Reporting to the Aftersales Manager, the Workshop Controller plays a key back-of-house role, responsible for managing a team of seven Vehicle Technicians and overseeing the day-to-day running of the workshop. Mechanical experience is not required, but some supervisory experience is preferred, as you'll be responsible for allocating work, ensuring workshop efficiency, and maintaining high safety and quality standards. While primarily a behind-the-scenes position, the Workshop Controller will also handle customer communication directly when required, such as obtaining authorisation for additional work.

To be eligible, you will ideally live in the Hereford area or within reasonable commuting distance. While previous experience running a successful automotive workshop, currently or in recent years, is preferred, our client is also open to applications from experienced Service Advisors or candidates of a similar background who are ready to take the next step in their career. You’ll need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong team ethic, and a results-driven approach. Problem-solving and decision-making skills are essential, along with a focus on quality and reliability. You should also be IT literate and hold a full UK driving licence with minimal points.
