A successful franchised main dealer in Barnstaple is looking to appoint a customer-focused Service Advisor to join its busy aftersales team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for delivering first-class customer service and a keen interest in the automotive industry.

The Service Advisor will act as the first point of contact for aftersales customers, providing a welcoming and professional service. They will manage service bookings, liaise between customers and the workshop, and ensure all work is completed to the highest standards while maintaining excellent communication throughout the customer journey.

Key responsibilities as a Service Advisor:
  • Greet customers and handle enquiries in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Schedule service and repair appointments efficiently.
  • Provide accurate cost estimates and explain work required clearly.
  • Liaise with workshop staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of jobs.
  • Keep customers informed on progress and update them on any additional work needed.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and uphold manufacturer standards.
The ideal Service Advisor must have:
  • Previous experience as a Service Advisor, ideally within a franchised dealership environment (though strong candidates from other customer-facing roles in the automotive sector will be considered).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational ability with attention to detail.
  • A proactive and customer-first mindset.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for the automotive industry.
