- Circa £38k - £40k Basic Salary + Overtime (£46k OTE)
- Hours: Alternate Earlies and Lates + Saturday Mornings on Rota (Paid at Time and Half).
Regular Duties of this HGV Technician role:
- Conduct MOT preparations, repairs, diagnostics, servicing, and maintenance of heavy goods vehicles.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical faults with precision.
- Write clear and concise job cards, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
- Collaborate with a skilled team to keep vehicles safe, roadworthy, and compliant.
- Work within a fast-paced garage environment using the latest diagnostic equipment and facilities.
- Relevant motor vehicle qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair).
- At least three years’ experience working with heavy vehicles.
- Own toolkit for professional repairs.
- Ability to perform all aspects of heavy vehicle maintenance to a high standard.
- Current car driving licence; HGV & PSV licences are desirable but not essential.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to write up job cards clearly and accurately.
- Experience with MOT testing, diagnostics, and electronic repair methods is highly desirable.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
- Proven track record in heavy vehicle servicing and diagnostics.
- Experience working within a busy dealership environment.
- Comfortable working alternate early and late shifts, including Saturday mornings (paid at time and a half).
- Motivation to develop your skills through ongoing training and qualifications such as IRTEC.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety practices at all times.
- Competitive basic salary of up to £40,000 per annum, with potential OTE of approximately £46,000 depending on overtime and efficiency.
- Alternate shift pattern with a total of 42.5 hours per week.
- Overtime paid at time and a half.
