Reporting to the Service Director and working as part of a small and friendly workshop team, as a Vehicle Technician, your main duties will include carrying out fault diagnosis, servicing, maintenance and repairs on customers' vehicles as instructed to the standards laid down by our client. You will need to ensure faults are accurately diagnosed and report to the Service Director as required on vehicle condition, safety, and reliability. And performance. As a Vehicle Technician, you will need to ensure that Health & Safety, as well as work quality procedures relating to the task at hand, are always adhered to. If you have the relevant experience, you will also help the Service Director with the monitoring and supervision of the workshop team, handle work allocation to the other Vehicle Technicians, and ensure work is completed within the allotted timeframe.
Do you need to be a qualified Vehicle Technician to be eligible? In short, no!
An IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair would be highly advantageous; however, our client is very open to considering Vehicle Technicians with no formal qualifications, provided they have extensive "time served" practical experience as a Vehicle Technician, their own tools, and are experienced to a senior/diagnostic technical level. You will need to hold a UK driving licence with minimal points, be a committed individual and a good team player. You must be able to produce a high quality of work in a busy workshop environment and be motivated to work towards targets set for your team. Vehicle Technicians with a valid MOT testing license or experience would be highly advantageous; however, this is non-essential, as our client is willing to offer the training to attain this.
What's in it for you? For your hard work as a Vehicle Technician, our client is offering…
- Up to £50,000 annual starting salary pending experience/qualifications.
- Monthly performance-related bonus (roughly 10% of your annual salary).
- 24 days annual leave plus the 8 bank holidays.
- Workplace pension scheme.
- Access to optional technical training and development, including acquiring an MOT licence.
- Fantastic long-term career prospects with a highly rated and family-run local business operating for over 20 years.
- Working hours from 8:15am-5:45pm Monday to Friday with an hour lunch and tea breaks.
