  • Working Hours: 5-day working week
  • Salary: £50,000 – £80,000 OTE + excellent benefits
Our client, a successful and expanding family-owned dealer group, is seeking an experienced General Sales Manager to lead their sales operations at their newly developed Liverpool site. With two established brands already in place and another launching in the coming months, this is a fantastic opportunity for a proven leader to shape and grow the business at an exciting time of expansion.

You will oversee a sales team of five executives, manage contract valeters, and work closely with the Aftersales Manager to deliver outstanding performance across both new and used vehicle sales.

Main Purpose of the Role: To lead, manage, and develop the dealership’s sales operations, ensuring sales targets are achieved, customer satisfaction remains at the highest level, and the team operates to the highest standards of compliance and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities of the GSM:
  • Lead, coach, and manage a team of sales executives
  • Drive performance to meet and exceed sales and profit targets
  • Oversee used car appraisals, part-exchange, and stock control
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and maintain long-term client relationships
  • Analyse sales trends, conversion rates, and team performance
  • Oversee accurate use of CRM and sales management systems
  • Work with marketing to support campaigns and promotions
  • Ensure full compliance with FCA regulations, GDPR, and company standards
  • Recruit, onboard, and train sales staff to build a high-performing team
  • Collaborate with aftersales and other departments to deliver a seamless customer journey
What We’re Looking For:
  • Proven track record in automotive sales management (new and used)
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and motivational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed targets
  • In-depth knowledge of FCA compliance and industry regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confident in sales systems, CRM, and performance reporting
  • Full UK driving licence
