MOT Tester / Technician
  • Location: Cranleigh, Surrey
  • Basic Salary: Up to £40,000 DOE 
  • Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 07:30 – 17:30 or 08:00 – 18:00 (No weekends)
Our reputable independent garage near Cranleigh, Surrey, is seeking a motivated and skilled MOT Tester / Technician to join their friendly team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a well-respected workshop that values quality, employee development, and a positive working environment.

Key Responsibilities as a MOT Technician:
  • Conduct MOT tests in accordance with DVSA standards and workshop procedures
  • Perform general vehicle servicing and mechanical repairs
  • Complete accurate documentation and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Communicate effectively with customers
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment
  • Support and mentor junior technicians as needed
  • Carry out MOT fail repairs to ensure vehicles pass first-time tests (standard 21-day turnaround plus bank holidays, Christmas shutdown, and birthday leave included)
What Our Client is Looking For:
  • Valid MOT Testing Licence (Class 4 essential; Class 7 beneficial)
  • Experience in a busy workshop environment
  • NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair preferred; Level 2 with strong experience considered
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and high standards of workmanship
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude
  • Full UK driving license
Requirements for the MOT Technician Position:
  • Ability to perform MOT repairs as part of the role
  • Flexibility to work within set deadlines, including handling MOT fail repairs efficiently and effectively
