Join a reputable and family-run fleet crash repair workshop based in Dartford, Kent as our client seeks a skilled MET Technician to become a vital part of their busy accident repair team.   • No weekend working, Monday to Friday hours from 7am to 4pm.
Duties of the MET Technician include:
  • Removing damaged parts to facilitate repairs
  • Safely storing displaced parts for refitting
  • Diagnosing additional damage and liaising with the Vehicle Damage Assessor
  • Ordering and checking parts for accuracy and completeness
  • Reinstalling repaired components with care to avoid damage to painted panels and ensuring panel gaps meet manufacturer tolerances
  • Replacing mechanical components of steering, drivetrain, and engine as required.
  • Resetting vehicle control units using diagnostic equipment
  • Following all health and safety legislation and internal procedures
  • Attending regular safety training sessions
  • Maintaining tools, equipment, and materials to high standards
Requirements for the MET Technician role:
  • Proven experience as an MET Technician within a reputable bodyshop or accident repair workshop.
  • Qualifications in welding and auto electrics are desirable
  • Knowledge of diagnostic and resetting vehicle control units
  • Attention to detail and a team-focused attitude
  • Ability to work efficiently and to high standards
