  • Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am-5:30pm with some flexibility on these work hours if required.

Our client, an independent service centre based in Glastonbury, is currently looking to recruit a Vehicle Technician/MOT Tester for their busy workshop.

Reporting to the Business Owner and working as part of a friendly workshop team, you shall be responsible for carrying out MOT tests on customers’ vehicles to Ministry standards, as well as diagnosing and carrying out associated service, maintenance, and repair work and providing overall workshop support as and when required. You will need to ensure any faults are accurately diagnosed and report to the Business Owner as required on vehicle condition, safety, reliability and performance. You will also need to ensure that health and safety, as well as work quality procedures laid down by our client, are adhered to at all times.

To be eligible, you will need to live within a reasonable commuting distance of Glastonbury and have proven experience and a background as a competent Vehicle Technician/MOT Tester, either from expertise gained through continued employment or an apprenticeship. You will have a friendly and approachable manner, given that you shall occasionally assist at the front reception desk with customer enquiries and be able to produce high-quality work within specified time frames. An MOT licence and a UK driving licence with minimal points are essential to our client at this stage; however, if you're a qualified Vehicle Technician looking to acquire an MOT licence, then please apply as our client is willing to consider this.
