Roadside Technician (Night Shift)

  • Location: Derby
  • Salary: £42,921 basic (including night allowance) + OTE Up to £53,000+
  • Hours: Night Shift (Patrol-based role)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Roadside Technician to join a leading breakdown and automotive services provider, covering the Derby area.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll be working independently, delivering expert roadside repairs, diagnostics, and emergency assistance directly to customers. From flat batteries and tyre changes to more complex fault-finding, no two days (or nights) are the same.

You’ll start and finish your shift from home, with a fully equipped company van and all tools provided, giving you the flexibility and independence to succeed in the role.

Key Responsibilities as a Roadside Vehicle Technician:
  • Attend roadside breakdowns and provide mechanical repairs and diagnostics
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and reassurance in high-pressure situations
  • Diagnose faults and carry out effective, safe roadside repairs
  • Manage your own workload and stock levels within the vehicle
  • Accurately complete job reports and documentation
  • Represent the business professionally at all times
Requirements that the Roadside Vehicle Technician:
  • Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in vehicle diagnostics, mechanical, and electrical repairs
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Full UK driving licence
