Junior Classic Car Technician

Are you driven by a love for vintage vehicles and a dedication to craftsmanship? Our client, a renowned family-run classic car restoration specialist based in Alton, Hampshire, is seeking a junior and enthusiastic Classic Car Engineer to help bring timeless masterpieces back to life. This full-time, permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to work on pre-1980s, post-war era classics, combining expertise with enthusiasm to ensure each vehicle is restored to the highest standards. Supporting the senior engineers in the workshop, you will be learning the trade from the best! Our client does want some classic car restoration experience so if you have the skills but not necessarily done it professionally please submit your portfolio of classic projects done to support your application. Our client is open minded that their dream person might not be working as a Classic Car Technician / Engineer.

Duties:
  • Assisting senior technicians with classic car restoration projects
  • Gaining hands-on experience in mechanical and bodywork tasks
  • Learning to diagnose and carry out repairs on vintage vehicles
  • Supporting the team in maintaining high standards of workmanship
  • Maintaining accurate records of work performed
Requirements:
  • Genuine interest and passion for classic cars and restoration
  • Some experience or hands-on involvement in classic car projects (portfolio appreciated)
  • Good communication skills and eager to learn
  • Ability to work well within a team and focus on attention to detail
  • Basic mechanical knowledge or engineering background advantageous but not essential
