Vehicle Mechanic -Air Cooled Engines Required for Vintage Restoration Company in Croydon 

Pay: £36,000 - £40,000 Basic DOE 
Hours: 8AM - 5PM Monday with hour lunch break no weekends 
Are you a skilled Vehicle Mechanic with specialised experience in air cooled engines? A highly regarded vintage restoration company based in Croydon is seeking a dedicated Vehicle Mechanic - Air Cooled Engines to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for mechanics passionate about classic and vintage vehicles, working primarily on air cooled petrol engines such as those found in iconic Porsche or Volkswagen models. The role involves hands-on mechanical work in a supportive environment, avoiding modern diesel or main-dealer diagnostics. 

If you are seeking a more interested automotive engineering technical position away from main dealer fitting or working on all makes and models this role will be for you!

Duties

  • Carrying out servicing and repairs on vintage vehicles, focusing on air cooled petrol engines

  • Maintaining detailed records of work completed
  • Working within tooling constraints, relying on manual skills rather than dealer diagnostics
  • Ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards
Candidate spec

  • Proven experience as a Vehicle Mechanic with a strong focus on air cooled or vintage petrol engines
  • Hands-on mechanical skills with a passion for classic and vintage vehicle restoration
  • Strong diagnostic and repair abilities in manual engine servicing
  • Knowledge of classic Air-Cooled engines or similar is highly desirable
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently within a team
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
