A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy and growing Fleet department at a modern Vehicle Maintenance Unit (VMU).

This role is ideal for a skilled technician who takes pride in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance across a varied fleet of heavy goods vehicles.

With continued investment in fleet operations and ambitious growth plans, this is an exciting opportunity to join a business that prioritises safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities as an HGV Technician:
  • Carry out routine servicing, repairs, and maintenance on HGVs and commercial vehicles
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
  • Perform vehicle inspections, health checks, and road tests
  • Complete preventative maintenance and ensure vehicles meet DVSA standards
  • Use diagnostic equipment to accurately identify and rectify faults
  • Conduct MOT preparation work and ensure fleet compliance
  • Carry out engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical repairs
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and job documentation
  • Ensure a clean, organised, and safe working environment
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maximise vehicle uptime
  • Communicate repair findings and recommendations clearly to management.
About the HGV Technician:
  • Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience working on HGVs, LGVs, or commercial vehicles
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Excellent technical knowledge of modern commercial vehicle systems
  • Full UK Driving Licence (HGV licence desirable but not essential)
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A proactive approach to maintenance and problem-solving.
