Key Responsibilities as an HGV Technician:
- Carry out routine servicing, repairs, and maintenance on HGVs and commercial vehicles
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
- Perform vehicle inspections, health checks, and road tests
- Complete preventative maintenance and ensure vehicles meet DVSA standards
- Use diagnostic equipment to accurately identify and rectify faults
- Conduct MOT preparation work and ensure fleet compliance
- Carry out engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical repairs
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and job documentation
- Ensure a clean, organised, and safe working environment
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maximise vehicle uptime
- Communicate repair findings and recommendations clearly to management.
- Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
- Proven experience working on HGVs, LGVs, or commercial vehicles
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Excellent technical knowledge of modern commercial vehicle systems
- Full UK Driving Licence (HGV licence desirable but not essential)
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A proactive approach to maintenance and problem-solving.
