HGV Recovery Driver - Thame
  • Salary: Between £39-46,000 per annum, pending experience, plus a monthly bonus scheme (roughly £2-2,500 per annum).
  • Hours: 6:45am–4:45pm Monday to Friday. 8 car drivers will be required to work alternative Saturdays on an overtime basis.

Our client, one of the UK’s most modern and professional vehicle salvage agents/parts recyclers based in Thame, Oxfordshire, is looking to hire a HGV Recovery Driver to join their team. 

Reporting to the Transport Manager, this role involves collecting accident-damaged and end-of-life vehicles from automotive bodyshops, garages and private households.

Depending on your previous experience, you will be driving either a 4-car or an 8-car transporter.  

The general collection area is a 50-mile radius from where our client is based in Thame.

In order to be eligible, successful HGV Recovery Drivers must have a C+E driving licence with minimal points, with a current CPC.

Category C licence holders may be considered if they have the relevant experience in the recovery and transportation of motor vehicles.

Previous experience is desirable, but not essential, as training will be given.

 The role will also involve the use of handheld PDA scanners, so being comfortable dealing with mobile phones/basic IT equipment would also be helpful.

The successful HGV Driver must be reliable, enthusiastic, and comfortable working in a busy, fast-moving environment. The role is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DDS, Finance, Right to Work and reference checks.
