- Salary: £35,000 – £45,000
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm (1 in 2 Saturdays)

We are recruiting for an experienced Service Manager to join a long-established and highly regarded independent garage in Leighton Buzzard.
This is a hands-on leadership role within a growing business that operates both vehicle sales and a fully equipped service & MOT centre. The workshop supports a consistent flow of retail customer work, internal preparation, and all-makes servicing, providing a stable and varied workload.
You’ll have genuine autonomy to run the department your way, improve efficiency, and build a strong, motivated team.
Key Responsibilities
- Full day-to-day management of workshop operations and workflow
- Leading, developing and motivating technicians and front-of-house staff
- Driving productivity, efficiency, and quality standards
- Managing job allocation, bookings, and workshop throughput
- Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention
- Maintaining smooth communication between workshop and service reception
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Service Manager, Workshop Controller, or similar senior role
- Strong background in a busy workshop environment (independent or franchise)
- Confident managing technicians, customers, and high workload pressure
- Commercially aware with a focus on efficiency and profitability
- Hands-on leadership style with a “lead from the front” approach
