We are currently sourcing Sales Assistant / Driver to join a busy team based in Sparkford. This role offers a competitive basic salary of around £29,000  depending on experience. The ideal candidate will play a vital part in delivering excellent customer service while efficiently managing parts inventory and local deliveries. Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM or 9AM - 6PM and 1 in 3 Saturdays on a rota

Duties

Safely operate company vehicles for local deliveries and pickups, ensuring timely service.
Assist customers in-store with product information and support sales initiatives.
Load and unload goods, sometimes involving heavy lifting, with safety as a priority.
Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and inventory records.
Communicate effectively with team members regarding schedules, customer requests, and daily operational issues.
Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety standards are met.
Support warehouse activities such as stock organisation and inventory management.
Providing exceptional customer service both face-to-face and via phone enquiries.

Requirements

Proven experience as a delivery driver with a clean driving record.
Experience operating commercial vehicles.
Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and efficiently.
Excellent communication skills to engage professionally with clients and colleagues.
Knowledge of local routes and navigation tools to optimise delivery routes.
Strong organisational skills for handling multiple tasks.
Attention to detail, especially when recording inventory and order details.
Experience in parts sales, warehouse operations, or logistics is advantageous.
Parts mechanical knowledge is preferred but not essential.
