We are currently recruiting for a Dealership Accountant to join a busy motor trade operation on the Isle of Wight. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced automotive accountant who is ready to take on a key leadership role within a well-established dealership. The successful individual will be responsible for managing the financial functions of the dealership, including preparing management accounts, cash flow management, and liaising with external advisors. Duties:
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports for senior management
  • Managing day-to-day financial operations including cash management, sales and purchase ledger control, and payroll
  • Reconciling and maintaining key balance sheet accounts
  • Assisting in the preparation of year-end accounts and statutory returns
  • Monitoring vehicle P&L accounts and controlling the Reynolds & Reynolds/Power accounting system
  • Managing credit control, debt collection, warranty claims, and cash flow forecasting
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company procedures
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a management accountant within the motor trade is essential
  • Strong experience with Reynolds & Reynolds or Power systems is advantageous
  • Advanced knowledge of spreadsheets and financial reporting tools
  • Proven experience in VAT returns and statutory filings
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Flexible attitude and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
