We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established specialist vehicle manufacturing business for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join their growing production team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a respected employer that designs and manufactures high-quality commercial vehicle bodies, with full training provided where required. The Role As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a key role in the assembly and fitting of specialist commercial vehicle bodies, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work independently and as part of a team to meet production targets and deadlines.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and work orders.
  • Safely use hand tools, measuring equipment and workshop machinery.
  • Install insulated panels on commercial refrigerated vehicle bodies.
  • Complete electrical terminations including lighting, switches and tail lifts.
  • Seal joints, floors and roofs using silicone and specialist coatings.
  • Cut and prepare metal, timber and plastic components using workshop equipment.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across workshop and site locations.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures, quality standards and company policies.
  • Support the wider production team with additional duties as required.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter or in a similar manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience using hand tools and workshop equipment safely.
  • A strong understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Reliable transport or the ability to travel to the site.
