Vehicle Technician Vacancy - Northampton Main Dealer
  • OTE: Up to £40,000 + guaranteed bonus for first 6 months
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm, including Saturdays on a rota basis

Our client is a reputable main dealer in Northampton and, due to continued growth, is looking for a skilled Vehicle Technician to join their modern, well-equipped workshop. As a Vehicle Technician, you'll play a vital role in ensuring vehicles are serviced, maintained, repaired and diagnosed to the highest standards. 

Responsibilities of a Vehicle Technician:
  • Carry out servicing, maintenance, repairs and diagnostics to manufacturer standards.
  • Complete electrical and mechanical repairs, including brakes, suspension, steering, exhausts and air conditioning.
  • Diagnose faults using the latest electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Work on EV and Hybrid vehicles, with full training provided where required.
  • Fit manufacturer accessories and audio equipment.
  • Complete service paperwork accurately and in line with manufacturer standards.
  • Work closely with the workshop team, sharing knowledge and maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Keep up to date with the latest vehicle technologies, repair techniques and equipment.

Requirements of a Vehicle Technician:
  • Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge with a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Previous automotive experience as a Vehicle Technician 
  • Experience from a main dealer, independent garage, fast-fit centre or car supermarket will be considered.
  • EV/Hybrid qualification and MOT Licence would be advantageous but are not essential, as training will be provided.
