HGV Technician / Truck Mechanic Required in Erith, South East London / Kent  - Early shift! 

Pay: Up to £25 per hour + Overtime paid at time and a half 
Hours: Mon – Friday 08:00 – 4:30pm with half hour lunch 1 in 2 Saturdays on a rota 

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced HGV Technician to join a busy service centre located in Erith. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional looking to enhance their career within the heavy goods vehicle maintenance industry. You will be working in a well-equipped environment, providing essential repair and maintenance services for heavy trucks and trailers, ensuring high standards of safety and operational efficiency.

  • Early weekday shifts from 08:00 to 16:30
  • Half-day on Saturdays on a rota basis

Duties:
  • Carrying out major and minor repairs on HGVs, trailers, and other commercial vehicles
  • Performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance, including oil changes and tyre rotations
  • Maintaining workshop inventory and cleanliness, ensuring a safe working environment
  • Assisting diagnosis and planning of repairs with the repair team
  • Keeping detailed records of repairs and maintenance activities
  • Providing roadside emergency repair services when required
  • Completing job paperwork and warranty claims accurately, escalating issues to management when necessary
Requirements:
  • Level 3 NVQ, City and Guilds, or IMI qualification in HGV Vehicle Repair and Maintenance
  • Ability to identify worn, faulty components according to DVSA standards
  • Full UK driving licence relevant to vehicle classes worked on
  • Proven experience in heavy vehicle repair and diagnostics
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
