Roadside Technician Vacancy - Milton Keynes - Night Shift
  • Location: Milton Keynes and surrounding areas
  • Salary: £43,000 + Bonus 
  • OTE:Circa £53,000, with potential to earn around £60,000+ through bonuses and enhanced overtime
We’re looking for a skilled Roadside Technician to join a busy patrol team, providing professional roadside assistance to motorists across the local area. You’ll use your mechanical and diagnostic expertise to identify faults, carry out repairs and get customers safely back on the road.

You’ll work locally and start and finish your shifts from home, giving you the freedom and responsibility to manage your day while responding to a variety of roadside breakdowns.

The Role

As a Roadside Technician, your day could involve anything from a flat battery or puncture to more involved diagnostic work and mechanical repairs. No two call-outs are the same, so you’ll need to be confident working independently and making sound decisions under pressure.

Responsibilities:
  • Diagnosing and repairing vehicles at the roadside
  • Carrying out mechanical repairs and fault finding
  • Using modern diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle faults
  • Attending breakdowns and providing a professional, customer-focused service
  • Carrying out battery, tyre and other roadside repairs
  • Ensuring customers receive clear advice and reassurance
  • Working safely and efficiently while maintaining high technical standards
You’ll need to meet one of the following:
  • NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with at least 2 years’ relevant experience
  • 5+ years’ experience working as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic
You’ll also need:
  • A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
  • The ability to work independently and confidently in a roadside environment
  • A customer-focused approach and excellent communication skills
  • The ability to remain calm and professional when working under pressure
