- £45,000 Basic Salary + Bonus
- Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off – 6:00am to 6:00pm

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the workshop, working closely with Workshop Supervisors and the Business Manager.
- Ensure consistently high standards of workmanship and minimise rectification and repeat work.
- Maximise workshop utilisation by ensuring productive staff are fully loaded and workloads are managed effectively.
- Monitor labour efficiency and productivity against agreed targets and address any issues promptly.
- Identify jobs exceeding allocated times and work with the relevant Technician or Workshop Supervisor to resolve any issues.
- Manage the handover of complex or potentially contentious jobs, ensuring clear communication and customer agreement.
- Monitor and manage Service Department performance against key KPI targets.
- Ensure Technicians are fully aware of their workload, allocated times and required productivity levels.
- Ensure manufacturer service processes and company quality standards are consistently followed.
- Maintain compliance with relevant VOSA requirements, MOT regulations and Operators' Licence legislation.
- Promote a safe, efficient and professional working environment across the workshop.
- The ideal individual will have previous experience in a Workshop Supervisor, Workshop Controller, Workshop Manager or similar management position, preferably within the commercial vehicle/HGV sector.
You will ideally have:
- Previous supervisory or management experience within a workshop environment.
- Commercial vehicle/heavy vehicle experience is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of VOSA requirements and the MOT Testers' Manual.
- An understanding of Operators' Licence laws and regulations.
- A relevant technical qualification, such as City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Technology / Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and work effectively under pressure.
- The ability to use your own initiative and make confident decisions.
- A commitment to maintaining your technical knowledge and keeping up to date with industry best practices.
- Good IT skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
