About the Role
Perfect Placement UK Ltd is excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a skilled Mobile Vehicle Technician to join a dynamic and growing automotive service provider in Erith, Kent. This role is perfect for a motivated individual with a passion for vehicle mechanics, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering top-quality service directly to customers.
As a Mobile Vehicle Technician, you will work independently, traveling to customers’ locations across Erith and surrounding areas to carry out vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. You’ll be provided with a fully kitted out company van, equipped with all the tools and equipment necessary to perform your duties efficiently. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to showcase your technical expertise while enjoying the flexibility and autonomy of mobile work.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of vehicle repairs, diagnostics, and servicing on various makes and models, including cars and light commercial vehicles.
- Conduct routine maintenance, such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire replacements, and battery checks, at customers’ homes or workplaces.
- Use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical faults.
- Provide excellent customer service, explaining technical issues clearly and professionally to clients.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, including parts used and time spent on each job.
- Ensure the company van and equipment are kept in good condition, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Stay up to date with the latest automotive technologies and participate in ongoing training as required.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent) is essential.
- Experience: Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic, ideally with mobile or roadside repair experience.
- Skills: Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities, with expertise in working on a variety of vehicle makes and models. Knowledge of hybrid/electric vehicles is a plus.
- Licence: A full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
- Attributes: Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently. Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential for building trust with clients.
- Tools: While a fully kitted out van and tools are provided, candidates with their own tools are welcome to use them if preferred.
