About the Role As a Professional Car Detailer / Valetor, you will play a pivotal role in upholding the garage’s reputation for excellence. Your primary responsibility will be to meticulously prepare vehicles to the highest standards, ensuring every detail meets the exacting expectations of both the business and its clientele. This role demands a passion for automotive excellence, an uncompromising eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering flawless results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Precision Detailing: Perform advanced detailing techniques, including multi-stage paint correction, ceramic coating application, and paint protection film (PPF) installation, to achieve a mirror-like finish on high-end vehicles.
- Safe and Effective Cleaning: Utilise industry-leading methods such as the double or triple bucket hand-washing technique, snow foam pre-wash, and clay bar decontamination to ensure vehicles are cleaned without introducing swirls or scratches.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections of every vehicle, checking every millimeter to ensure work meets the garage’s rigorous standards before delivery or collection. Report any imperfections and coordinate with the team to address them promptly.
- Professional Presentation: Maintain the company’s image of professionalism and quality by ensuring all vehicles are presented immaculately, both inside and out, enhancing their appeal for sales and customer satisfaction.
- Equipment and Workspace Maintenance: Keep detailing equipment, tools, and work areas in pristine condition, adhering to health and safety standards. Ensure all clothing and personal protective equipment (PPE) reflect the company’s professional standards.
- Time Management: Efficiently manage workload to meet quoted delivery and collection times, balancing speed with uncompromising quality.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with colleagues in the sales and service departments to ensure seamless operations and exceptional customer experiences.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest detailing techniques, products, and technologies to maintain a competitive edge in the luxury automotive market.
- Experience: Proven experience in professional car detailing, high-end valeting, or paint protection film (PPF) installation, ideally within a prestige or luxury automotive environment.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of safe and effective vehicle cleaning and detailing techniques, including the use of professional-grade products and equipment (e.g., dual-action polishers, steam cleaners, and infrared curing lamps).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional focus on quality, with the ability to identify and address even the smallest imperfections in paintwork, interiors, or glass.
- Reliability and Motivation: A strong work ethic, punctuality, and a proactive attitude, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Multi-Tasking Skills: Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple vehicles while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
- Professionalism: A polished demeanor and commitment to representing the company’s values of excellence and customer satisfaction.
- Physical Stamina: Comfortable working in a physically demanding role that may involve standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.
- Desirable Skills: Certification in detailing techniques (e.g., from the International Detailing Association) or experience with specific brands (e.g., Ferrari, Aston Martin, Rolls-Royce) is a plus but not essential.
