Service Technician opportunity in Haywards Heath

Pay: £28,000 - £35,000 Basic 
Hours: 8 - 5.30pm Monday - Friday no weekends - optional overtime on Thursday evenings paid at time and half hourly rate 
Are you a motivated vehicle technician looking for a stable and rewarding role in West Sussex? Our client, a well-established independent garage in Haywards Heath, is seeking a Service Vehicle Technician to join their team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified or qualified through experience vehicle technician to develop their career in a friendly and professional environment.

The successful Service Vehicle Technician will be responsible for carrying out servicing and repairs on a variety of vehicles, including cars and light vans. The garage is equipped with modern facilities, including five 2-post lifts, a scissor lift, and ramped MOT bays, ensuring smooth and efficient work. MOT testing capability is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.

Benefits:
  • Competitive basic salary of £35,000 per annum with optional overtime opportunities 
  • Hours of work from 8.00am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday
  • Optional overtime on Thursday evenings paid at time and a half
  • No weekends or bank holidays required

Duties:
  • Performing routine servicing and repair work on vehicles
  • Conducting diagnostics and fault finding
  • Assisting with occasional clutch and timing belt replacements
  • Maintaining high standards of workmanship
  • Ensuring timely completion of jobs and excellent customer service
Requirements:
  • Recently qualified or a few years experience as a vehicle technician
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle servicing and repairs
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately
  • Have own tools and driving licence 
  • Strong organisation skills and a professional attitude
  • Local candidates within approximately five miles of Haywards Heath preferred
  • MOT certification would be advantageous but is not essential
