Vehicle Technician/MOT Tester Job in Sidcup, Greater London

Location: Sidcup, South East London
Salary: Up to £40,000 Basic (Dependent on Experience)
Hours: 8.30am - 5pm, Monday - Friday - no weekends

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technician & MOT Tester to join a reputable automotive service centre in Sidcup, Kent.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced motor trade professionals looking to advance their career within a busy workshop environment.

Duties of a Vehicle Technician/MOT Tester :
  • Conduct MOT tests in compliance with legal requirements and safety standards
  • Diagnose vehicle issues using mechanical expertise and diagnostic tools
  • Perform repairs, servicing, and maintenance on a variety of vehicles
  • Use hand and power tools efficiently to complete tasks accurately
  • Maintain detailed records of all work carried out, including parts used
  • Assist in vehicle inspections and identify potential issues proactively
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations within the workshop
  • Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and vehicle conditions as needed
Requirements of a Vehicle Technician/MOT Tester :
  • Proven experience as a Motor Vehicle Technician and MOT Tester or similar role
  • Valid MOT testing licence or willingness to obtain one
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Good mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems and components
  • Proficiency in the safe use of hand and power tools
  • Ability to carry out repairs, diagnostics, and servicing efficiently
  • Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
